The Daily Practice of Showing Up
Dec 20, 2024There are days when words fail me, yet beneath the surface, I'm a whirlwind of energy and emotion. Some thoughts feel too raw, too personal to release into the world. They simmer inside, intense and private.
What emerges on these days? A lesson? An observation? A fragment of thought?
The daily commitment to write isn't just a should—it's a must. It's woven into the fabric of who I'm becoming. Yet some days, like today, the easier path beckons: the path of silence, of not showing up to the page.
But this is where the true practice lives—in moving through resistance. The practice is in the daily act of writing and sharing, even when the words feel inadequate. It's showing up consistently, knowing that over time, this dedication will evolve into something greater than myself. Perhaps these words will resonate with others in ways I cannot yet imagine.
This imperfect journey reveals an essential truth: the practice itself need not be perfect. Each small step, each modest effort to show up and write, leads us forward on the path of becoming. Even on the days when the words don't flow easily, the act of trying matters more than the outcome.
